The Doncaster Junior Football Club (DJFC) presentation day for season 2024, was held out our club rooms on Sunday 8th September. Presentation day brought all our officials, players and families together to celebrate the season. It was a relaxing sunny Sunday morning, spent at the bottom oval at Schramm’s, recognising the efforts of our teams , whilst enjoying a sausage sizzle!
The formalities were led by the President, Corey Bakes, who thanked the 2024 committee and all our sponsors including Bendigo Bank, First National Real Estate, The Sporting Globe and The Pancake Parlour. The coaches, team officials, players and all out families and volunteers that make day game happen were acknowledged.
All our players were recognised beginning including over 50 Auskick participants who all received participation trophies, in what hopefully is a long relationship with the DJFC.
Next our Under 8 team coached by Grant and Farooq, and Under 9 team coached by Gaurav and Finn, proudly received their participation awards for a great 2024 season where lots about playing footy was learnt! Our Under 10 team which played as a merged team with Templestowe Junior Footy Club, was well represented by their coaches Jason and Dirk and best and fairest winner Dominic Hunter. Ethan Robinson was deservedly awarded the best and fairest for the Under 12 team, merged with Surrey Park Junior Football Club and coached by Tim and Luke. The Under 13 team, coached by Steven and Richard, awarded their best and fairest to Sebastian Yianni.
Players were also recognised for reaching various milestones through season 2024. Nate Curtis, Bilgunn Bavasgalan, Ryon Khorami Azar, Daniel Stijanov and Alexnadra Coutsouvelis accepted their 50-game trophies. James Coutsouvelis accepted his 100-game trophy and YJFL medal. A special recognition, Tackers to Colts, was awarded to the Youth players who have played all their junior footy at DJFC. Well done James Coutsouvelis, James De Rango, Lachlan Grimbos and Joshua Russell.
At DJFC, Life Membership is an honour bestowed on individual club members whose exceptional, loyal, outstanding service and contribution has provided measurable benefit to the club over an extended period. Presentation Day was closed with the recognition of club members Corey Bakes, John De Rango, Leandra Martin, Lydia Tsafkopoulos and Peter Tsafkopoulos as DJFC Life Members. Congratulations.
